. Lights for three weeks and so far they are AMAZING. The corals look beautiful and come in a range of colors.

I've been using these lamps for three weeks now and they are AMAZING so far. The corals look beautiful and the color scheme is great. I have a 120 gallon tank (62"L x 20W x 22T) and immediately started using them (both channels) at 60%. I bought three of these and they replaced the 760w (2 x 250 HQI w/ 4 x 65 T1 Actinic Blues) I had the Odyssey Hood for a couple of years but it eventually broke and it was time to move on to something else I was a little afraid the lower overall output wouldn't be enough but so far so good and the corals seem to be thriving. Even the torch, frogspawn and brains at the bottom of the tank are doing well. We'll see where they are in a month, especially the corals at the ends of the tank that don't get as much light , but I'm not sure if it's very different from my previous set of headlights, if need be I'll just buy another one and I'm sure I'll be fine.I built a simple wooden frame, which you can see in the pictures can see and it works very well Headlamp a n the side which I think also provides pretty good coverage for the tank. It floats 5.5 inches above the water surface, which is lower than recommended but I think that's fine. Some reviews suggested there were issues with the timers, but mine worked fine and all three lights are on for the same amount of time. Not sure what else to add but if they maintain their intensity/PAR levels in the months/years to come I will be very happy. Considering the money and not having to replace the lightbulbs every 6 months I think they're a good investment too.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Some complications
