High quality and good hose

WaterPix's Achilles heel - supply hose to a handstick. No matter how careful, the hose always breaks right at the base of the wand. Rather than replacing the entire machine, you can simply replace the hoses and umbilical, including the coupler that screws into the base of the pump. The OEM part (from WaterPik) is no longer available on Revain.com so I tried this inexpensive and well tested part. It is very easy to replace, but be aware that there are no screws or tab that fits into the connection between the coupler and the pump base, so save these when replacing. The retained tongue is a very thin circular membrane with a flap that needs to be properly aligned in the connection hole (one side of the hole is flat, corresponding to the flat edge of the tongue). Note its position before carefully removing it. It's easy to tear if you're not careful. If it aligns properly when you remove the old clutch, just leave it in place. If not, delete it and move it just right! Then wet the coupler o-ring to make it easier to slide the coupler into the hole. Line up the screw holes in the base with the screw tabs on the coupler and do not rotate the coupler as you insert it into the hole. You risk ruining the blade position if you rotate the sleeve to align it. Also, make sure you insert the probe in the correct position before connecting the coupler to the pump. Replace the bolts you saved from the old clutch by gradually tightening the bolts evenly until fully seated. Don't overtighten them. My WaterPik works like new and the hose seems to be a bit more flexible than the OEM hose so maybe it will last longer!
