Only top portion gets warm. Nice! Can set to cycle through the colors or select one color.
It is even better than I thought. The main part of unit stays cool to touch. Only the top portion for scented cubes or oil, gets warm. The top part is fixed. So just be aware and careful when cleaning. A paper towel can wipe top while wax is still warm, and it cleans up nicely for the next cube or oil. In the evening, it is so pretty. The designs make for delicate and fun viewing. I definitely would give as a gift. Glad I purchased.
