These extensions are of high quality. Soldering is definitely essential to complete your work. Then the fitting is twisted again. Easy. I use them when swapping out cables for clients when they have irregular, too short or too long cable runs (I trim the length when there are too many cables to trip over, broken equipment, etc.) or when I'm designing a completely new system. . I even used them once in a snap during a live concert! We had a bad cable problem and didn't have a backup of the same length. We unplugged the channel, unplugged the wire, I soldered a new kit on, and the channel was up and running end to end, including back and forth, in less than 10 minutes (with a little help from a wire guide). . The public didn't know! These little guys are part of my pro sound setup kit and I've never had a single complaint. Just the opposite. NO hissing on my systems. Only a very low floor, high quality voice acting and instruments. basically awesome!
