Purchased specifically for hotels where there is no easy way to make hot water for coffee and tea. We use a tall, double-walled, stainless steel bottle that allows the heater to be fully submerged in water. In less than 60 seconds you have very hot water for almost anything. It's small so it's easy to pack. We keep it in a silicone case in case it gets hot when we put it away, but that seems unnecessary as it cools down quickly due to the evaporation of water left on the heater. Could it be dangerous? Of course. The same can be done with scissors and a banana peel. Follow common sense and enjoy hot water.
