Forget Virgin Snow Tonics! Use Ultraviolet and Conditioner instead: >

In this review, you'll learn how to turn Ultraviolet into a platinum blonde hair tonic. For this part, go to the "Use as Toner" section. If you don't care and just want to know how the dye works on its own, here's a general rundown: It's definitely a 10/10 for effectiveness, but there are a few things you should know before you go use it. Oh my god, that's a stain. It colors your hair, colors your skin, colors your bath, colors your soul. Be sure to wear gloves and DO NOT leave it on surfaces or skin. If you wipe it off your sink/bathtub/tiles, leather etc right away you will most likely catch it before it leaves a stain. If there are stains, bleach (even hair bleach) works well on white porcelain/tile surfaces, so don't panic.2. Semi-permanent can be misleading. If you use this color undiluted on bleached hair, expect it to last a while. Virgin hair should fade faster depending on hair porosity, but be prepared for unexpected color retention. Get more than you think you need. 1 tube might be enough if your hair is cut or shorter, but with shoulder length hair I didn't have enough product. Take 1 jar for every 6-8 inches of hair length and round up the amount. ------ USE AS A TONER: I first bought a tube of virgin snow toner and it wasn't enough for my shoulder length hair. and at the time my hair wasn't bleached enough for the violet based toner to push the copper in heavily. Oops, that's my fault. a month to tone and touch up the roots after bleaching. When you tone blonde hair to go platinum or "white," it's technically a very pale gray. Basic color theory states that opposite colors mix on the color wheel to create gray. Or "neutralize each other". So when you're toning blonde hair, what you're actually trying to do is blue neutralizes orange and violet neutralizes yellow Regrowth, coloring and ombre/balayage coloring are particularly common, so with that in mind, to dye blonde hair platinum, you can simply mix lots of $2-5 conditioner with a small amount of true purple** hair dye and you've got a lightweight, effective and most importantly CHEAP* toner. You can also mix it with your favorite shampoo to get a purple shampoo, although this will require more product. Just be careful, don't mix too much color into your conditioner or you'll end up with lavender colored hair I have found that when I use a white conditioner and mix it if it resembles the color pantone 7445c it tints my bleached blonde the S dub 10 to a nice neutral platinum :) If there's some orange in my hair, I'll add a dash of shocking blue manic panic to reverse that as well.--- -- ------------- --------------------------------- -- --------------- ----------------------**True purple means a very cool shade of purple; Warmer shades of purple, like plum or burgundy, will theoretically make your hair look more pink than neutral/grey. Ultra Violet by Manic Panic is a cool shade of purple. purple lasts for months. For me, as someone with shoulder length hair, that's the difference between $3-6 a month and $18-28 (manic panic ranges from $9-$14 a bath depending on when you buy) for toner.
