I am an avid audio book listener and of all I have left this is one of the best. Some of my other favorite books are Freakonomics (Stephen Levitt), Tuesdays with Morrie (Mitch Album), Discworld (Thomas Friedman), See No Evil (Robert Baer), and Confessions of an Economic Killers (John Perkins). . In short, this is a well-told story of two experienced private divers on weekend wrecks who are accidentally shipwrecked. Together, they overcome rivalries and rewrite part of World War II history by consulting with experts and piecing together the events that likely led to the sinking of their discovery off the coast of New Jersey. Although I first became interested in this book shortly after receiving my Scuba Divemaster rating, it focuses less on the technical aspects of diving and more on the history and discovery process, making it enjoyable for non-divers as well. . If this event is of interest to you, I also recommend you consider purchasing Hitler's Lost U-Boat (NOVA-DVD) for a visual depiction of the same event. In short, Shadow Divers is a great book to read (or listen to, as the case may be) and a great choice for divers and history students alike.
