We had a hard time teaching two 1 year old boxer puppies basic manners; don't climb in the trash, only jump up when invited, don't steal food from the counter, yard boundaries, don't steal food for other dogs and cats, etc. We've had the collars for a week and have had very positive results so far. Over the years we have tried other products on other pets. So far these are the best. Battery life is excellent, and we like the auto idle shutdown feature. We love that we control both dogs with the same remote and can easily switch between functions and dogs. In addition, the range is impressive for a portable remote system. We have almost a hectare of land and we can control it from anywhere. Also rate its safety; Shocks or vibrations cannot be too strong and injure the dog if used with common sense. We had a wireless system that no matter how low we set it, it caused our pit bull terrier a lot of damage. A week later we returned this particular system. It's a keeper! Updated February 2, 2019 We have had this unit for less than two months. I am proud to say that our 14 month old male has grown so well that he can now be trusted around the house. He learned to stay away from trash, not tear things up, and not go to the bathroom indoors. It no longer has to be packed at night or when leaving. The woman still has a long way to go. She's still playing around in her cage and around the house, but she's learning to leave things alone. Both puppies no longer need to be called or searched for when released outside. When they're out of bounds or it's time to board, the sound feature gets them going.
