I ignored the bad reviews for this cake stand but now I wish I had paid more attention. BAD reviewers are the most accurate. It "says" it's an 11.8 inch cake stand, NOT IT. It may be the outside of the base, but nobody cares about the outside dimension. People want to know the inside dimensions. That's where this cake stand fails. I "thought" that the 11.8 inch cake stand would hold a 10 inch cake. God I was wrong! The inner diameter is just under 10" so your 10" cake may barely fit in it as it will scratch the inside of the lid. You also get a 10" diameter but only about 1-1/4" tall. So if you can fit a 1" tall cake then you'll be fine! LOL The only 1" tall cakes I've seen are misfits that don't rise in the oven. This is an excellent carrier for "unfortunate cakes". everything is OK. But still it feels flimsy and the clasp isn't very good quality so I wouldn't trust carrying it by the handle or your cake might end up on the floor. Overall, you're better off paying more and getting a quality cake stand that reports ID honestly so you know what you're getting. Just got a refund for this cheap cake stand. That's not it.
