They arrived today and I tested them with a wide genre of music. The noise canceling properties are surprisingly good if the right silicone surround is chosen. Tonally they are *very* bass-heavy. There's just no snare click. There is simply no leading edge of the cymbal hit. I'll be the first to say that I'm biased because I was an audio engineer (both in the studio and live) in a past life. These would be good headphones for general listening while working, just to have something to block out outside noise and keep the music going. If that's your goal, you'll get a BIG bang for your buck! I will leave them for this purpose but continue to search for critical listening headphones. I will most likely end up somewhere in the Shure line of in-ear headphones. But if you don't *really* have to be critical, they're absolutely *excellent* at the price and you don't have to lose a few hundred bucks.
