If only it had real buttons.

Please note that this website contains reviews of several IOGEAR KVM models. My review is for the IOGEAR KVMP Pro 4-Port Dual Channel DVI Switch, GCS1204G, which I bought in 2015. updated to this model. A KVM typically runs four Windows PCs (Vista, Home Server 2011, 7 and 8) connected to a 2560x1440 monitor and a wireless USB keyboard and mouse. The other KVM is running three Windows 7 boxes and a Mac (Mavericks) with a wired USB keyboard and wireless USB mouse. All machines perform as expected with good, stable displays at each machine's max resolution. I have successfully powered both monitors at their full resolutions using a dual link DVI to DisplayPort cable and from a Mac using a Thunderbolt (Mini DisplayPort) to DVI cable. I can switch video over KVM using HDMI-to-DVI cables, but it's no surprise that none of the machines run at resolutions higher than 1920x1200 through their standard HDMI ports. One of my KVMs is sitting out of sight on a low shelf so it's suddenly difficult to find the right knob. Yes, there are keyboard shortcuts for switching between computers, but I prefer buttons. I glued small rubber feet to the switches. An oddity that probably only applies to my hardware setup: I have an issue on a system with a 2560 x 1440 monitor that keeps popping up when playing from a PC running streaming video (Netflix) in full screen mode (in Chrome) running, switched to another PC is tasks on the desktop and then back to the computer with the video. The monitor cannot capture the video and remains black. If I remember to switch Chrome to window view before switching, it's not a problem. When the problem occurs I can usually switch to KVM on any other active PC. If I have a second monitor plugged directly into the problem computer and make it my primary monitor, I can access the controls, minimize Chrome, and restore the blank screen. The included cables are nice because the video, USB, and audio cables connect together, but I wish they weren't so thick and inflexible. I have thinner and more flexible dual link DVI cables that seem to work fine. Another problem. Not a problem with KVM, but a tip: when I originally installed one of the KVMs, I didn't replace the individual one. Connect a DVI cable from one computer to the KVM and it prevented all other connected computers from running at full resolution.
