Review on πŸ”ͺ SE SS74 22SC Sharpening Silicone Carbide: Efficient Tool for Precision Blade Sharpening by Todd Cowdrey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Rental sharps are suitable for power tools and hand tools

This set of two hand stones has four grit levels. 600 and 800 are designed to remove a lot of stock and create an edge. 1200 and 2000 for polishing and sharpening edges. I've recently started sharpening our kitchen knives with whetstones and I love the process and find it meditative, but it takes some space. They are more compact for quick sharpening and are easy to pack and take with you when you travel. With a slight bend in the handle, I can hold it flat on the table and slide the blade over it. I wasn't sure if they should be soaked, but I did anyway. I personally would put two sharpening stones on one handle and two polishing stones on the other. That way I can take one polisher for general sharpening and leave the other at home for knives with really damaged blades. Since they look like they could be out in the open I'll probably attach them to a couple of badge spools hanging near our camp fish cleaning station to trim the edges. Some say the stones will fall out but I'll have to wait and see. All in all, it's not a bad deal for less than $12.
