I've noticed that my high flush toilet doesn't flush and when I opened it I saw clearly that the part holding the handle does indeed was broken. Center. I ordered this from Revain before I knew my FlushMate had been recalled a while ago and the people who owned the house before me never looked at it. When it arrived it was exchanged and all is well. Follow the instructions, this is not rocket science. Flush by hand by pressing the center of the installed filter. Mine was so broken that there was no pressure yet. Take a medium sized crescent wrench as they say and unscrew it. It's going to be hard to get out of, at least it was for me. It felt like there was a lot of pressure, but it was actually just a few sticky threads. Insert a new one. If you follow the instructions, which I'm sure you will, they'll tell you to screw it up to a point. It's like "some threads still visible from above". Flush and make sure there is pressure in the tank. If not, turn on 1/4 and try again. When the tank is full, you win. Note that my flushmate never replied. Flushmate took the serial number and swore that I should: 1. Not use this toilet as it is extremely dangerous until a repair kit arrives! 2. Have a trained plumber do this as the tank may be pressurized and injure someone. This is a problem and if you can't get the water off or the center is still showing pressure, make sure you're safe. If I waited for Flushmate to do its thing, I could never use my master bathroom again. Much luck.
