My cat had 2 major surgeries in 6 weeks and was sent home with a surgical sock converted into a jumpsuit. He didn't sit still and continued to put painful pressure on his JP drain. After buying baby overalls of all sizes and realizing that 2T was barely enough for my 14 lb cat, I made strategic cuts and returned to the vet to transplant my distressed cat from surgical sock into overalls. Do the cat a favor. Be ready. I bought this in multiple sizes to ensure I have the best option if I ever have another major surgery. However, I don't like velcro because my cats don't like the sound. It would have been better if it had a zipper, drawstring or some other closure method. When bringing your cat home after major surgery I have found that the best place to recover is in a tent set up in my living room. Ask the surgeon to put nail caps on the cat to keep it from sticking to your tent. I had to add a low speed fan to keep the paper pellet filler from smelling too much - trust me on this one. I got a headache from him in front of the fan. I can only guess how my poor cat felt.
