Review on πŸ¦… Hawk Performance HB180B.560 HPS 5.0 Brake Pads by Josue Porter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Might be a 5 star pad - My use - 2017 STI Limited (rear) - HB180B.560

2017 STI - This is common on 4-piston/2-piston Brembo engines . Fit is OEM quality. The performance is above average. You will notice an increase in initial bite, stopping power and fade resistance. Road use only. They also leave less dust on the wheels between washes. I've been using Hawk Pads for 15 years now. HPS and HPS Street 5.0. These could have been 5 star pads if they included a wear indicator. As others have said, these pads don't have that. There is a bracket for it on the corner of the back wall, but Hawk chose not to include it. Anyone who uses these pads probably knows how to control pad thickness and wear. They are easy to assemble, beveled and have a split pad surface like the original pads. As with any brake pad installation, apply grease to the backing plates. If you don't do this, your caliper pistons can vibrate against the back of the pad and cause a squeak under certain conditions. A small smear is enough. Don't forget to reuse the OEM seals as well. When properly lubricated, they are quiet. Hawk pads are a cheap alternative to overpriced original Subaru pads.
