Review on Portable Surge Guard 44280 💡 - 120V, 30A,Black: Top-notch Surge Protector by Carl Morgan

The surge protector socket did not fit snugly into the 30 amp RV plug which was in good working order prior to this incident. Loose connections caused the RV's shore plug and surge protector socket to arc, causing the connection to generate enough heat to melt both my RV's surge protector and shore power cord (see photos). Luckily I noticed this before something horrible like a fire happened. While I managed to fix the shore power cable and replace the plug head, I will definitely be looking to other manufacturers for surge protectors in the future!
