This is a great product but it will take a little time to learn as there is not much information in the package. A few tips to keep in mind: This works without a cutting board but it's BETTER if you have a magnetic cutting board to attach it to, now you don't need it but if you have a regular board you have it to hold it. down and move the cutter, which can result in not-so-nice cuts. Each bit has a locking feature which helps because if you don't lock them they stay turned for cutting as they have a safety lock to hold the blade when not in use. My friend was unaware of this and tried to keep the blade open while cutting and the cuts were very uneven and didn't show the pattern very well. This kit comes with two extra fasteners which are very small and I suggest when you open the package you put them in a zipped bag or attach them to something as they are very easy to lose. This is a great product and has given me so many different designs and ideas for cards and scrapbooking. I'm really glad I didn't let the negative reviews stop me from buying it.
