Review on Dura Faucet DF-SA150-ORB RV Shower Faucet Valve Diverter (Oil Rubbed Bronze) by Jacob Sampino

It would be great if it worked reliably!

Here's the thing folks, RV shower valves are very difficult to install because you're working in tight spaces with awkward plastic parts. It's not that heavy though and this was the second time I've had to replace the exact same model. The first time it was completely my fault for not figuring out the drain lines and not winterizing my trailer. I got it. About 14 months later, the valve failed again for no reason. My trailer was properly deflated and winterized. When I disassembled the valve, the entire plastic valve body was cracked. So I looked for a better alternative and couldn't find one, so I ordered this valve again. I installed it just before leaving for a multi-state trip last week. I took a shower once and everything was fine, and the next time I took a shower there was no hot water even with the knob turned all the way! Cold showers are no fun! As it turns out, I spoke to Lance Manufacturing (my trailer brand, excellent customer service) about another matter and asked for their opinion on what could be causing me to lose hot water. They said that the reason is only in the valve. Really after less than 6 minutes of use? They said they stopped putting single lever valves even though they look better because they fail more often and faster. They also said that with two manual valves, it is much easier to get a constant water temperature. They gave me the manufacturer and part number of what they are installing. I couldn't find the Revain so I contacted the Lance parts department to order one. A new, better performing valve is only $15.11, less than half what I paid for this poor quality product. The lesson for me is that my manufacturer's parts department was a lot cheaper, even though I expected it to be the other way around. Unfortunately the defective valve was delivered on May 18th and can no longer be returned so I don't have the $33 plus all the time and inconvenience of fitting it. And the last. We are in the middle of COVID-19. Many campsites are open, but showers are not. I'm on the road for another week and I'm taking a cold shower. Thanks to the (not) Dura-Mixer!
