I needed a bowl that doesn't take up much space on the sink and doesn't break when dropped on the floor. This bowl is perfect in every way. Great size to hit enough foam while maintaining a good grip. Keeps you warm and is of course very easy to care for. It doesn't matter to me whether the bowl is made in Germany or in China and in fact the description doesn't say that the bowl is made in Germany, but that the origin of the design is in Germany. Good quality stainless steel. Also, for some reason, and it may depend on how the person is holding the shaving brush, I have no problem hitting the sides of the bowl while lathering.
