I own a ventilation business and offer indoor air quality testing as an extra service. The meter worked well for a few months, then it was put into storage while we focused on a large job that took many months. When we got back to testing in the air, it turned out that the machine was no longer working properly. It is currently 100% unusable as the results continue to show 0 for both VOC and HCHO. This may be common with HCHOs, but it is extremely unlikely or almost impossible to see 0 with VOC. To test the device, we placed it next to a scented candle, which always gave a result and didn't show anything else. We paid almost $500 with taxes to use it maybe 30 times. I used to have another Extech product, CO2, which also recently failed. but was handled and replaced very professionally by the company. However, this time I'm curious if I'm just lucky to have an understanding employee or if the company fully supports their products. Currently I am giving 1 star for such an expensive product with a short lifespan. If it turns out that it is just a defective individual product and my request is processed professionally and replaced in an uncomplicated manner, I will be happy to correct my rating. For now, however, I recommend buying with caution.
