I bought this banana rack because it is said that hanging bananas slow down their ripening. I used a large rubber band and hung my bananas on a hook from the ceiling. Now I use the same hook on the ceiling to hang the banana holder and it looks pretty neat. And I don't have to worry about it tearing like my rubber bands eventually did. ***FYI: If you cut the bananas and leave the top stem on the bunch, the remaining stems will still hold onto the banana holder beads when there is only one banana left in the bunch.
