Review on Sangean SG-112 AM/FM Multi-Powered Weather Emergency Radio: Stay Connected in Any Emergency by John Roby

Not what I expected

Not what I expected. I have a couple of Sangean radios and have no complaints, but I'm not overly impressed with this little emergency radio. Firstly, the solar panel doesn't charge it, or at least mine doesn't if it's already charged, but I installed mine in a window seal after four days of dead battery and it got a few hours of sunshine. every day, and it did nothing but turn on a small light on the front to show it was charging. The sound quality is great for a small radio, it doesn't scream loud but it has a very crisp clear sound, very high quality sound. Mine is about a year and a half, they put it in a closet and the battery died. I charged it and was going to use it for weather alerts over the summer and after charging it overnight it played for two or three minutes and then it started cracking and popping and acting like the battery was dying, so I ordered a new battery because it doesn't matter, he definitely has an internal problem. I've tried three different batteries and no luck. But the flashlight works.

Pros
  • Portable audio and video
Cons
  • There are problems
