Review on Sigma Contemporary Cameras Advanced Travel by James Crofton

Excellent quality and photo quality lenses

I bought this lens kit for my Sony a6500. I already had a Sony 35mm lens, but I didn't like the color reproduction and wanted another wider aperture lens for low light shooting. I watched many videos comparing the lens and the differences seemed very small. When testing lenses, I preferred Sigma's color reproduction. The colors are warmer and more precise. The Sony has a cooler tone and is slightly darker. My biggest concern was the loss of phase-detection autofocus, but the Sigma focuses very quickly. For videos, it finds focus quickly and records well. Since I have an a6500, the loss of stabilization in the lens was not a problem. With manual focus, the Sigma's ring is much easier to grip and adjust without slipping. My only complaint is that the Sigma has barrel distortion. With Sony you don't notice that because of the built-in lens correction. This might be fixed in the post, but it's still an extra step. The build quality is exceptional. The lens is heavier and larger than the Sony, but that doesn't really bother me. You feel like you are using a quality product with Sigma.
