But I would give five stars.

Well, I'm a cameraman and a photographer. I own my own business and I'm subcontracted to Sony Music, which basically means I'm qualified to make music videos for them. I would give this lens 5 stars if the auto focus was a bit faster and there was also a clicking sound when focusing. So you need an external audio if you want to make audio with it. Sometimes if your f.stop is too high it won't focus and needs some help. I personally don't like this lens because I'm used to it and just shot a…

Until I bought this lens I was very dissatisfied with my new Sony a 6300. I have a whale lens, 16x50. Did a couple of photoshoots with it, thinking that OSS or image stabilization would have helped a lot. I was completely wrong. When I received the Sigma 30 1.4 I was thrilled. It literally made me want to take more photos. Getting background separation when using a fast lens makes a big difference. Your photos will instantly look more artistic and professional. I just hated my Sony until I got…

Amazing Lenz great extras

If you have a Sony A series THIS IS THE FIRST LENS YOU SHOULD BUY! I've been riding this Lenz daily for about 8 months and I'm happy to say it's the best purchase I've made for my Sony a6300. Additions such as a Señor vacuum cleaner and a portable bag that I use every day, especially the bag. Well worth the extra $20-30 you spend on this kit. Build: Mainly metal with some plastic. noticeable chromatic aberration at low aperture (between 1.4-2.2 f-stops) - noticeable lens distortion. Remember…

Pretty disappointed

I spent several weeks researching and comparing this lens to others. I finally settled on it as it was better suited for landscape photography (in my price range) and made my way to Glacier National Park. I figured the purple piping everyone was talking about was easy to fix and would do. The image quality of this lens is good. Nothing special, but not terrible either. It's really noisy for the lens when trying to autofocus and it's trying to focus A LOT. It doesn't seem to stop. My camera is a

  • Everything OK

I know it's a great lens so I bought it. I received it some time ago and was very excited to receive the whole set. I was looking for a lens, but it's always nice to get extras. It took me a while to try everything and to my surprise, one of the things I was dying to use with the lens was the ND filter that came with the kit. To my surprise, this is a defective ND filter that is useless. The filter's coating is wrong and renders the photos unusable by giving them an uneven purple glow. I've…

Excellent quality and photo quality lenses

I bought this lens kit for my Sony a6500. I already had a Sony 35mm lens, but I didn't like the color reproduction and wanted another wider aperture lens for low light shooting. I watched many videos comparing the lens and the differences seemed very small. When testing lenses, I preferred Sigma's color reproduction. The colors are warmer and more precise. The Sony has a cooler tone and is slightly darker. My biggest concern was the loss of phase-detection autofocus, but the Sigma focuses very…

Really good budget lens for Sony E-mount

Tested this lens on Sony a6000, attached photos are not processed. I was looking for a mid-range lens to complement my standard prime lens kit. Having used the Sigma 30mm I must say that I am very satisfied with the purchase. The focal length and large aperture offer great flexibility for all types of shots, from portraits to landscapes. It seems to work well in both bright and low light, although I haven't tested the latter in detail. The lens is sharp in the center with limited roll-off…
