We threw a family member's 80th birthday party in gold, black and white. I bought shiny gold napkins and they are indeed an awful mustard brown. There is nothing shiny or golden about them. We put a handful in for our party because we didn't have any others but wasn't sure anyone even took them. Otherwise, it's a cocktail napkin. They feel slippery so I'm not sure how absorbent they are. If you are looking for a true gold color, this is NOT the one. If you want mustard brown (baby poop?) then this is the perfect color for you!
