I bought this shoe because of the darkened textured side sole as seen in the pictures. When I opened them they were mostly white with some dark "spots" on the side soles. So basically they looked like they had white soles and someone rubbed the sidewall on the sidewalk in the parking lot before shipping. Too bad because they fit well, were comfortable and true to size. "Look" is not what you see. RETURNED.
