It is best to avoid this substitution. The installation was successful thanks to the pre-applied glue. I knew touchID wouldn't work with this non-OEM part. There were some other issues that basically render the iPad unusable. The first small issue I noticed is that the smart cover turns off the screen when folded behind the tablet. Apparently there should be another sensor in the screen that picks up the magnet in the smart case. Without that sensor, it just relies on a sensor on the board to determine if the lid is closed. The second major issue is that there is an area at the bottom of the screen that doesn't recognize input. It is displayed as a bar on the screen. With the Apple Pencil I was able to highlight this area in the image. The third problem is that when you draw with a pen in a new area in OneNote, the line jumps from your previous input to where the pen touches the screen. This can be seen in another image. The final issue is that the home button that comes with this replacement fails after a few weeks of use. Now it doesn't respond to presses. I've opened up this iPad many times to check the ribbon cables to make sure everything is properly connected. From the glass used to the replacement button, the quality is lacking. Avoid the hassle and buy from another seller.
