I ordered the 44mm version. The valve stem measures 44.8mm from the base of the stem, including the rubber plug, to the shoulder of the threaded stem; without valve insert (see photo above). Overall length is a bit longer than my 29" Kappius carbon rims and fits my trail bike well. I don't want them any longer. nut, a rubber O-ring on the stem located just below the nut, and a plastic valve cap. The nut has two flat points and can be tightened with an adjustable 3/8", 9mm open end wrench or by hand (recommended). The O-ring helps secure the nut to the rim but is quite small and it won't protect the nut from rubbing on the rim (if that bothers you) encounter installation problems Installation Tip: After tightening the nut to secure the valve stem to the rim, apply a small amount of rubber glue (found in many tire patch kits included) around the base of the rubber plug on the inside of the rim -- make sure they don't get into the valve stem (see photo) This helps prevent leaks under the base of the stem, and it's still easy to remove , if you need to fix the plate on the rail.
