Plastic spatulas are great for working on delicate surfaces that are prone to scratching. I've used them to fill holes in project boards and drywall repairs and they do a great job. Although they are a bit flexible, they are quite thick and will not fit most plastic/fabric installation baseboards. The leading edge can also easily warp or burr when used to scrape or tear off items. Does not replace metal tools in all cases, but is ideal for small projects.
