I run the summer camp infirmary where we see a lot of splinters, many of which fall out of the wood when I try to remove them. It was great to have this product on hand. The tip is super, super sharp, making it easy to remove a splinter. My only complaint is that it could have been a little firmer to keep it from bending when trying to pull real calluses on the sole of your foot, for example. It's so sharp that it has bent and punctured the surrounding tissue a few times, causing a drop of blood that then makes it difficult to see the splinter, which we are trying to remove. This is probably a minor complaint as I was very happy to find this after searching for shard removal options, but thought it was worth mentioning. However, I have bought them for three years and we continue to use them with great success. It's worth the investment to have both the parents and the clinic on hand.
