I bought one of these Trudeau pepper mills in 2008 because I wanted to be able to grind fresh peppers while cooking without using both hands. When I'm preparing food, often at least one of my hands is very dirty and covered with food, so I found it frustrating to stop cooking to wash my hands so I could use a pepper grinder and not smear them with food. hunt for a long time. then one day i found this battery operated pepper grinder (shiny chrome version) in the store and bought it straight away. This is one of my best kitchen purchases. I use this every day. The batteries need to be replaced about every 6 months but that seems reasonable for the amount of pepper I grind. After 6 years the gears started to seize and it stopped grinding fine so I bought this black one as a replacement. I've had it for a month now and it works just as well as my original model. I also like the black version because it doesn't show fingerprints and dirt as easily as the chrome version. Here's another six years of freshly ground pepper!
