For my installation, I used a flush mount option with a non-traditional ceiling finish. I had a hard time getting all four screws from the light fixture into the bracket. I also noticed that the canopy warped a bit when I installed it. Luckily I was able to save him. The screws for mounting the mounting bracket also seemed questionable to us. I went to the hardware store to buy a pair of more durable ones. A little peace of mind goes a long way. If I were to reinstall this I would add some thick washers between the mounting bracket and the ceiling. My installation was probably atypical as the bracket was screwed into a ceiling joist with stucco in between. The faux finish on the lamp cage left a lot to be desired. While reading another reviewer going for black, I went with hammered Krylon copper. Another shortcoming: one of the lamps was defective. I replaced it and had no problems with the mount. All in all, I spent more on this fan than the other options, and even then I spent more (screws, paint, bulbs) to get it right. Four stars is almost too generous, but overall I'm happy with the end product.
