Sizing information, comparison of 3 different coats

To be clear, I have not received any compensation for this review. I am endlessly obsessed with which coat to choose: this coat, Gooby Padded Cold Weather Vest Small Dog Down Coat with Safety Fur Zip, Pink, Large or Gooby Fashion Padded Dog Bomber Vest Lightweight Quilted Jacket with Stretch Chest, Pink, Large, so I tried all three! In the end I chose this coat. This coat runs slightly small. My little Vesti Maggie is very petite for Vesti. She is 16 pounds. with chest 18 inches. The big one fits her like a bug! Her 'cousin', Vesti, my 20 lb sister needs an XL size. The clothing tag provides good examples of sizing. XS: 3-5 pounds, suitable for small Yorkshireman, Pomeranian, Maltese or Chihuahua. S: 5-8 pounds, suitable for larger Yorkshire, Pomeranian, Maltese, Chihuahua or smaller Shih Tsu. Med: 8-15 lbs, suitable for smaller ones. Minimum. Poodles or the larger Maltese or Shih Tzu. Large: 15-20 lbs: Smaller Boston Terriers, Welsh Corgis, Min Schnauzers, Daukshunds or Vestas. XL: 20-25 lbs: Larger Boston Terriers, Dachshunds, Welsh Corgis, Min Schnauzers, Vesti or medium sized Beagles. It's also unisex; Boys will have no problem "doing their own thing" in this coat. This coat is perfect for my Maggie. She's a tough little soul (her ancestors are from the West Highlands of Scotland, after all!) We live in Maine where it's cold, windy and humid. She is fine without fur until she is 40. This coat with its thick fleece and dense shell will keep you comfortable in a breezy 10 degrees. From the photo it is difficult to see how attractive the coat is. Lined in pink with a lovely thick aquamarine fleece (not blue as shown). Every seam is tight and well stitched. Lining as described) offers a restricted view. We both love this coat! This is the easiest coat I've tried to put on her; Getting their legs in and out with lots of angry growling is usually a big problem! Maggie wags her tail as I pick up this vest. "We're going for a walk!" As a royal little princess, she loves all the oohs and aahs she gets when she's wearing that very chic pink coat. Given its exceptional quality, I expect this beautiful coat will last for many years. In short, a down coat is a coat suitable for Minna's frosty tundra. Esota or Strong Chicago Wind. Or, if you're feeling a bit cold, a toasted coat for a more temperate climate. This is a real down coat. It's quite large - Maggie swam in it so she would go for a medium size. I have a deformed right hand and my left hand is a bit arthritic, so it was difficult for me to press the button and zip up. The zipper is big and strong, but I had trouble squeezing it between two D-rings. Most people with good dexterity should have no problem. Again, the quality is exceptional. The quilted jacket is more of a spring jacket or even an indoor jacket for dogs that freeze easily. It runs very small - Maggie would definitely take XL. I found it a bit easier to use a zip than a down jacket, but it's still not worth the effort. Also very beautiful and great quality. I highly recommend all three coats. I became a real gooby evangelist!
