I have 2 camelbak canisters which I have carried and used regularly for several years. I have the 2L and 1.5L sizes but both use the same bite valve. I have found that after prolonged use the silicone bite cracks where the sleeve portion makes contact with the bite. I think that's partly because the stinger is removed from the plastic valve assembly to clean, and the stinger is also bent back over the end of that plastic tube. In this review, for just a dollar more, you get 8 bites versus 1 for the Camelbak brand. Visually they look almost the same and the silicone feels the same. The only issue I've found that others have also mentioned is bite opening quality control. I assume they are pierced with a blade to create a gap, but sometimes the blade doesn't seem to go deep enough, leaving only a very small hole when you bite. This is very easy to fix with a sharp blade like a utility knife or Exacto just to open up the gap a bit. It only takes a few seconds and doesn't give you the extra hassle of getting a smooth, easy flow through the valve. At $7 for 8 bite valves I am very happy with this purchase!
