The manufacturer recommends putting the batteries (four pre-installed) aside if you plan to use it mainly from the mains. light and easy to carry which, based on its weight and portability alone, suggests that its audio signal is weak and/or not strong enough. But you are wrong! For me (I mostly listen to classical music and NPR) this KLIM Boombox has a much better sound quality than comparable branded players that usually cost twice as much. Can't comment on the batteries as I only use them when plugged in, but they are supposed to charge when the player is plugged in. Both the CD player and the FM radio functions are very easy to use. I had not heard of KLIM before purchasing this item, but based on this experience, I will look for KLIM in the future.
