My daughter was delighted when she saw these dresses. I was very upset that I didn't pay an arm and a leg. What I'm saying is that if you're a handyman like me, you'll have to tinker with a few things. The sides of the lace overlay on the skirt are raw and jagged in places. I just pulled out my trusty sewing scissors and fixed them and yes I could hand hem them but I'm not that OCD. According to another review, ironing clothes is key to make them look like the pictures and they are very cute in hindsight. They're made from the same synthetic materials as Disney Princess dolls' clothing, so don't expect actual satin or taffeta. The seams are even, the Velcro is secure. I've sewn fashion clothes for dolls myself and it's worth buying to avoid getting needles in your fingers and squinting to see if the machine needle is picking up the right fabric.
