I was looking for a portfolio to carry with me to meetings. I wanted a letter size legal pad, place for cards and a place for storing loose papers. This product has all of that. I also wanted it to look nice -- no cheap plastic with sharp edges for me! This fills that bill too. It had not occurred to me about a pen holder. I assumed they were automatic in this type of item. It’s quite nice. Better than I’d anticipated for the money. I got a fancy one and this one and I was surprised it was nicer than expected. I do wish it had a slot to add a notebook that opens horizontally vs one that only accommodates a writing pad but a hack for this could be to add one underneath the existing notepad or the pad’s cardboard underneath. i’m in college and didn’t want to spend very much money on one of these. paid around $10 and was happy with the quality. the only thing is that mine accidentally got a scratch it or something but it’s not a huge deal

If you do a lot out in the field note taking, this is a very good padfolio. I have a couple of nicer leather ones if I'm going to meet a client in their office. This looks decent, easy to wipe off, seems sturdy and you can fold it all the way over if you need to jot notes while standing. At this price, this isnt going to dazzle anyone that may actually take notice of what your carrying into a meeting, but, it doesnt necessarily look 'cheap' either.

This is a great work tool, holds a standard size note pad, pen, a few small pockets but nothing that makes it bulky. Love it, very professional!

This is great for holding my papers. I bought this one though, because you can open it to the left, or to the right, depending on which way you turn it. That makes in convenienter.

I use this primarily for journaling and it is great. You can fold the cover back without ruining the spine, which makes it very simple to write in. The minimalist style prevents it from taking up too much space so it is easy to tote around in a laptop bag. The leather exterior seems able to hold up to a fair amount of punishment without showing wear and tear. Only one side had a pocket. When I went to order more from our previous order a year or two back,I found out they don't have it available any more. I really wanted the 2 side pockets for our meetings.
