After using the filter for three days, it once again wiped the white powder off my dark table and tiles. I filled it in two more times, thinking maybe something needs to be pulled out of the inside. You also need to wipe the powder off the table and tiles. Little did I know when I bought the humidifier that it might need a filter. First of all, the filter doesn't work. When I used distilled water I didn't have any powder, but keeping the humidifier running costs $1.50 a day, which is too much money a month. I didn't have this problem with the old Holmes humidifiers which are prehistoric and bulky along with the need to regularly clean and/or change the paper filter. Technology doesn't always get better.
