I decided to take a chance and buy a very good memory foam mattress and heard that getting dirty voided the warranty and decided for this mattress topper. I've moved and had to temporarily store my mattress at my sister's house. Turns out she let her kid and dog run and jump on it. Anger aside, I got it back and was horrified to see all the smudges. I thought this is it. My mattress is out of warranty. I took off the topper and expected the worst. I was stunned to find my mattress in perfect condition. Not a single stain. I soaked the protector in a bath of warm water and Oxyclean for white and the stains just disappeared. I'm so happy I bought this shelter that I'm buying 3 more for my cribs! UPDATE 2 YEARS LATER: This mattress topper is still going strong. After the kids, pets, and other chaos, my mattress still looks brand new. I posted photos above. This is what my mattress looks like after 2 years. An absolutely fantastic product. I've always washed it according to the instructions and so far it hasn't let me down. Will definitely buy again when this one decides it's time.
