First off let me say that I have tested many docking stations, I also have a few Acer products (all laptops) and I have In the past there were Acer monitors. Overall, Acer mostly does a good job with its products and offers an affordable price. This dock is not the case here; while the dock itself is fine and works well (as long as the laptop can output to two monitors, HDMI + DP can be used, otherwise only one monitor output can be used). Mini Desktop PC. I've tested docking stations from various brands (Pluggable, Wavlink, Startech, Belkin, Dell, Lention, etc.) and this is the most expensive one I've tested with such a "standard" feature set. I also tested this dock with the Acer Dock III and the only real difference between it and the Dock III is the number of HDMI ports and the VESA mount, while the Dock II is the one with more HDMI and VESA mounts. So I'm not sure how "worse" the Dock III is than the Dock II. This one gets 5 stars because of the HDMI ports and VESA mount. This simplifies desktop setup, which justifies the price. Overall this dock doesn't get too hot in use and I've had no issues with a 1440p monitor from several different laptops I have with this type of support. Videos via USB-C. No real complaints about the dock's capabilities other than the fact that it only has one HDMI port. Everything works fine, I don't think it will break easily.
