Review on Programming Software USB 29F Cable FTM 3200 by Mike Ken

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It makes life so much easier

I have three more radios. In fact I bought this software for my FTM 100 and added all the frequency offsets etc. Now I buy new software for various FTM3200dr or FTM 7250 radios, copy from one software and paste into another without printing. Make a data transfer and it will all be done in about half an hour because I'm slow, but that's for three radios. Try programming 70 frequencies with shifted tones etc and see how long it takes. Hours upon hours, even if you're fast. NO neck stiffness in this case, and when I make changes because I've found new frequencies. I copy the programming from the radio to the software, then copy the software to the other radio's software, and then transfer the data to the other radio. After that I copy from the computer to the backup chip in the radio and everything is done for me and if something happens everything is safe and sound on the chip and if the chip fails I can copy it from the computer to a new chip. Sounds complicated, but it's not when you've done it multiple times. It's not really worth copying and pasting multiple frequencies, it would be just as easy to hand program each radio separately, but if you want to make major changes, say 10 or so additions, it's quicker to use software. The nice thing is that I can tell my wife whatever car she is in to change to channel XXXX and she can change the channel with the microphone or the radio and in a few seconds we are on a different frequency, without that - or programming. or complicated maneuvers. Also, one software is for 2m only, another for 2m 70cm and a third for 991a. All of this works in copy and paste mode. I love it.

Pros
  • table layout with lots of point and click options.
Cons
  • So far so good
