The first impression was excellent. The box and factory packaging were professional. AAA batteries are included, which is a plus. However, there are few differences. First, where is the USB cable for this? It wasn't there, and I had to rummage through some obsolete cables in my sundries box. Second, the back design is terrible. I bought an E6B from Sportie and found it clunky, the buttons reminded me of one of those cheap calculators you buy at Walmart. The ASA buttons are one-piece and therefore one-piece. The features are very easy to set up and the flight planning section is very easy to use. The only thing I would caution the prospective student to do is make sure you know what radius you are using for the outbound (hold) course.
