I have to say I was a bit disappointed when I first bought this speaker. to the handlebars of my bike. It worked, but the noise of the road and the wind overwhelmed it. When I first compared it to my stereo call on my then-Samsung Galaxy S7, I, too, initially thought the volume was no better than the phone's speakers. But I have to say that after months of not using it I picked this little guy and hooked it up to my Google Pixel phone as it sits on a phone stand next to my laptop when I work - and I've become a huge fan! The volume is louder than most cell phone speakers. Bass is deeper, high tones are louder and clearer. I would call it a 'personal speaker', great for use on your desk or on a bedside table. Unless you plan to entertain a large group of people. at a pizza party, because that's not what the little guy is made for. If you need that kind of volume/volume, get a $40-$100 stereo Bluetooth speaker. paid for it!
