Great compression and the adjustable waist Velcro is nice. The fit is extremely snug, which it should be, but if you carry most of your weight in your tummy, or are not naturally an hourglass/pear shape, I reccomend sizing up- otherwise regular size should be fine. I am an hourglass in between XL and XXL/1X, with a 38 inch (36 while wearing the shaper) waist and got the XL but had to lay down on the floor in order to get it on the first time. It does morph a bit to your shape with time and wont be quite as tight the more you wear it.
