One of them failed in a lamp I bought at auction. Fairly easy to replace with a new socket and the lamp works great. A warning that should go without saying, if you're not happy with the power, consider hiring an electrician to replace it. Many homeowners can and do replace them, but when in doubt use caution and hire a professional.
