Unless the wording has been changed, it says nowhere that they are safety pins. If you are looking for safety pins, do not buy them because they DO NOT OPEN and ARE NOT SAFE pins! However, these "charms" are perfect. They are big and a bit bulky but I use them for statement earrings so they work great. To be honest I was very surprised by the size. Be sure to pay attention to the dimensions shown in the second picture! They are over an inch long and the skull is the size of a dime. Overall I like the product and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I might just use them to make bracelets!
