Review on Danze D135300BT Single Control Shut Off by Maria Sandoval

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not very suitable for a shower head. but this is a wonderful unit

I really liked my latest Danze shower thermostat which was a single unit with a decorative panel and a smaller thermostat knob. Unfortunately I sold this house and this valve is obsolete. For my new home, this new piece design is MUCH more expensive, plus it requires a lot more work to install and takes up more wall space. The seat plate for this valve is huge compared to the actual on/off valve. It seems disproportionate that the giant knob is only for adjusting the temperature, while the smaller knob is for turning the water on and off. I still have to get used to the small handle to control the shower. For just one shower, you will need this valve, a trim plate, a control valve, another trim plate, and 3/4" x 6" brass tubing. Dummy. Also shower head and neck. $$$ I had trouble with the connector that came with this valve. He seemed oversized. No matter how tight it was, no matter how badly the pipe was smeared with electrical tape, it still leaked. I had to get an aftermarket connector that screwed in easily and snapped on the first try. This design isn't that great for a single shower head. It is more suitable for complex installations with body showers, shower heads and shower heads. But I like the temperature control. It's so nice to know that the water temperature is perfect when you step into the shower.
