later I really like how they work and the settings make the setup perfect for the job. I used to only use cheap HFs and was always a little disappointed when I went from making potholders with a mig to walking beads with a stick and then swapped out the helmet for a sanding shield. Just remember to turn off the sanding process before making the next bow, or you'll pause and wait for the stains to go away. The two downsides of this helmet are that the friction gets progressively weaker as you lift it, causing the helmet to fall on your loose line, and if you're wearing heavy welding gloves you have to take them off to adjust the grips, and the other is the darkness control inside is The Helm. with all other settings. So figuring out if the hue is light or dark involves removing your gloves and helmet and adjusting the tiny dial. The cheap one had the dial on the outside and I could adjust it while driving.
