How everything has changed since I "dived” into the world of car audio! I bought it for a project with my son out of laziness and to see what it was all about. I'm pleasantly impressed! This time without a soldering iron, flux and solder! They are really safe once they are closed. I've taken one to the limit, opened it up and closed it again with no problem. However, I would not go beyond that. With smaller wire gauges, you can reliably connect this sleeve to the wire. If the insulation is too thick for the connector, you will need to strip the wire. I'm a fan. They're expensive, but I'm at a stage in life where a little money can save time... I'm in business.
