I'm new to Ham. I'm tech savvy, I'm a great troubleshooter, I can write VBA macros on demand so there aren't many technical things I can't figure out. I can't get this radio to work. I checked all the settings, tried multiple frequencies and repeaters, watched countless videos and even called Bridgecom support. I can't make contact. Bridgecom's instructions and course start with programming code insertions that shouldn't be required for simple analogue communications, but nobody seems to be able to tell me if a windows radio is required. computer to run it. Other reviews say it worked out of the box. This is not the case for me and the support team's inability to answer a simple question frustrates me to no end. The radio is back. If you're not an Elmer then this thing isn't for you and if you don't know what an Elmer is then it definitely isn't for you.
